Gaitania is located in the Planadas muncipality, in Tolima, Colombia. Known not only for its vibrant coffees, but also its deep cultural history, Planadas was once a place of refuge for political prisoners during Colombia's Liberal–Conservative conflict. Over time, reconciliation between both groups gave rise to the region’s lasting kindness to be known across the country.
This coffee is produced by an indigenous community called Nasa Wesx, with roots across Cauca, Huila, and Tolima. With the support of local cooperatives ACEDGA and ASCISP, the Nasa Wesx people focus on sustainable farming, environmental conservation, and community-driven development. All their coffee is certified organic—a testament to their stewardship of the land.
Harvested at altitudes between 1700–1900 metres, cherries are depulped and washed, then dried on raised beds to achieve optimal moisture content. With soft stonefruit acidity and a smooth nougat and milk chocolate finish, this one's guaranteed to please the crowd.
